Jeffrey,
Is that a soft/provisional liner? If so haw do you handle the final acrylic reline in the same manner with hollow openings(assuming it is a chair side reline and not lab processed). I am curious to know is the acrylic in this area easy to manage with the openings
This case is part of an IMTEC lecture that I do and what I am trying to show is how not to handle the reline materials. This is a hard liner and the key is that the patient bite on their denture so that the denture is tissue supported not implant supported.
Also….make sure you use vaseline or something on the denture to make clean up easy. If you do not…..you will not be happy. ASK ME HOW I KNOW
Check your occlusion, do prematurities. Remember, only one thing kills implants…..occlusal problems.
Best
Jeffrey
when do you usually load the IMTEC implants for the maxilary denture case?
can you make the denture U-shaped with metal framework? Thanks Jeff, nice
case!
I believe that the IMTEC should have a full palate.
I also know that the denture must be tissue supported not implant supported.
I am also not loading these cases for at least 3 months. I believe that it really helps the longevity of the cases.
Thanks for the complement.
Jeffrey
How do you not load an imtec? They are all single stage implants and stick out of the tissue. The o-rings may not be attached, but it is pretty hard to keep pressure off the implants. Do you use longer implants in the maxilla since the bone is softer?
The only way is to make sure the case is tissue borne and that there is plenty of space around the implants in the denture
